Amazon launches Launchpad in Australia to support Aussie start-ups
Amazon has launched its Launchpad program in Australia to help local start-ups and already established brands to launch, market and distribute their products.
Users of the platform will receive a custom product page on Amazon’s launchpad storefront, marketing support and access to Amazon’s local fulfilment network. By using Amazon’s retail expertise and infrastructure, Aussie start-up brands can leverage this platform to promote and build their business.
Currently, the Launchpad platform in Australia is free to use, however as a brand, you need to be registered for the platform. This platform brings ease to start-up brands and innovators, as they can focus on further developing products and the brand and let Amazons market expertise handle the pressure of product fulfilment, handling and stock management.
Amazon Agrees to Climate Change and Makes First Steps to Net Zero Carbon By 2030
Amazons latest effort to reduce its carbon emissions by 100% has kicked off, and Jeff Bezos plans to roll out his strategy 10 years before the expected date.
Amazon has taken the climate pledge in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations. Companies that agreed to take the climate pledge agree to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions regularly, implement decarbonization strategies and neutralise any remaining emissions by 2040.
Amazon has taken early steps towards their pledge and has ordered 100,000 fully-electric vehicles for Amazon’s daily fulfilments. This is to be the first of many early strategical steps Jeff B will implement to remove carbon emissions and transform Amazon into a carbon-neutral business.
Amazon’s New Payment Method – Cash Now Accepted!
Amazon announced earlier in September that they will be accepting cash payments for customers that do not have access to bank accounts or generally, customers who prefer paying with cash.
Amazon launched its new payment method in the US, Amazon Cash, allowing a new checkout option that will allow online shoppers to pay for Amazon.com purchases at one of the 15,000 western Union location.
Instead of using a bank account at checkout, customers can opt for the PayCode option at checkout and pay for your Amazon basket at the nearest Western Union branch. This payment method was motivated by surveys suggesting 39% of US Shoppers prefer in-person payments compared to online transactions.
The Amazon PayCode service has been around since early 2019, however only made available in 10 markets where majority chose physical cash transactions over online transactions. Now Amazon PayCode is available in the US, and we can probably expect this to be rolled out to other marketplace regions sometime soon.
